What is R.I.D.E?
We are a team of seniors at the University of Rochester and this is our capstone project. Collectively we are R.I.D.E and as such we are producing a 360-degree virtual reality film. Using VR we turn the viewer into the main character. The central theme of the experience is the subtle nuances of gender based discrimination, specifically against women. Our narrative is based on true stories told to us by people from various walks of life; some of those stories are shared here.
We hope that placing the viewer within the intimacy of another life will raise awareness on subtle sexism and provoke thought and ultimately change.
